Enjoy now the Youmap experience step by step. Here is a brief guide to get you started on Youmap.

How to start


1.    Create a Youmap account.
2.    Create an Excel file with the data you want to publish.

Upload data

3.    Go to “Import data”, select “Create new template based on an existing excel file” and click on “next”.
4.    Provide a name for your project, click on “next” and upload your excel file.
5.    Click on “analyze” to ensure the right format of the columns. Select the right data type for each column and click on “save”.     
6.    Go to Import Data, select your project and click on “upload” to upload your data.

No excel? No problem!

It is not necessary to create an excel file to upload your data in Youmap. Youmap enables you to create a new project totally from scratch. If this is the case,

1.    Go to “Import data”.
2.    Select “create a new template defining all the relevant fields from the beginning” and click on “next”.
3.    Provide a name for your project and click “next”.
4.    Click on “Add columns”, insert a title for each column.
5.    Select the right data type for each column, define longitude and latitude columns (special column menu) and click on “save”.


Define Map coordinates

Define longitude and latitude (x, y) to locate your entries (eg. your branches) on the map.
        
1.    Go to “Manage your data”,
2.    Select “view data table”
3.    Click on the entry that you want to edit.
4.    Click on “move” (map it), insert the address or area name in the “Go to” box, and click on “save”.


Want a more focused research?

Use spatial analysis tools and filter the fields that you want to show in the final data table of your website through “Data formatting” menu.  

1.     Go to “ Data formatting”
2.     Select project
3.    Select the spatial tool that is closer to your needs (polygon, rectangle and circle)



Want a different view template?

1.    Go to “Data formatting”
2.    Select project
3.    Select the view template that most suits to your website from the “View criteria” menu.


How do my data look like in my website?

•    Click on “Preview” and select the “View Final Format” button (upper right).


How to publish my data?

•    Click on “Publish”, copy the relevant link and past it into your website.
